Description

Some years ago, I sat down with a longtime friend and told her I was romantically interested in her. I was physically attracted to her, liked her ambition, and valued her more than the other women in my life.

She never spoke to me again.

I originally wrote the piece, "Being a Man is Worth Losing a Friend," here.

I take the position that losing a friendship WAS worth me taking the risk and telling her how I felt about her. But did I make a mistake?

In this episode I talk with Christina, my at the time girlfriend (NOT the woman referenced) about what Christina thought when she first read the article. We talk about taking initiative and being honest with someone we're romantically interested in.

Whether you're a man or a woman, have you ever found yourself in a situation where you'd like something more from a friendship? Would you like to turn it into a relationship but nervous on how it will play out? Or has a friend shared their sentiment with you, leaving you unsure how to react?

Here Christina and I share our thoughts, from the prospective of each gender, to help you navigate the situation, should this ever come up.
